On Saturday, June 11, 202, members of the Chester County Peace Movement (CCPM) conducted “canning” on the streets of West Chester Borough. Twice a year, the CCPM will canvass for donations from passerbys for a selected charitable organization. Given the mass shootings that are happening in the USA every more frequently such as the racist rampage in Buffalo, NY and the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, CCPM choose CeaseFire PA as the selected organization. This is a group that is actively educating for gun safety as well as advocating for sensible gun law reform. CCPM members circulated at a March For Our Lives Rally held on the corners of High and Market Streets that day.. They also collected donations from passing motorists. All gave generously. The check was delivered and presented to a representative from CeaseFire PA thereafter.
